OMEGA (Opportunities for Migrant Employment in Greater Auckland) works to see the greater Auckland region prosper by fully engaging the contributions of skilled immigrants, and by helping bring an end to workplace skill shortages. Omega recognizes the unique barriers new kiwis face when entering the New Zealand labour force. It has launched a series of practical programs to address these challenges, while at the same time helping organizations benefit from the talents and skills immigrants bring with them. With over 300 matches OMEGA’s Mentoring Program facilitates occupation-specific mentoring, matching skilled immigrants with business professionals who share the same skills and industry knowledge. OMEGA was recognized with the Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) Trust 2010 Tomorrow’s Workforce Award for their mentoring program.

Funded by The Tindall Foundation and hosted within the Committee for Auckland, Omega is part of a larger effort to make Auckland a great place to live and work.
